Access Statement for East Penrest Barn

Introduction

Our Barn has been designed to make access as easy as possible for people with minor disabilities

Pre-Arrival

• Our Barn is not suitable for anyone with severe physical impediments without being accompanied by a helper.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• There is plenty of car parking on a fairly rough surface. There is a ramp with a rail leading up to the front door. The bedrooms are all on the ground floor and we can provide a ramp if necessary to access the bedrooms.

Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc

• The doors are all wide enough for wheel chair access. The floors are all either slate or wood. There are a few rugs which we are happy to take up for you.

Bathrooms

• The bathroom on the first floor has one toilet with grab rails together with a shower with disabled access. The floor is cork.

• The en suite bathroom has a shower with a wide step up into it and the floor is slate.

Kitchen

• The kitchen is laid out with standard height work surfaces. There is a low level oven and a Nobel (like an Aga). The floor is wood.

•The floor in the utility room is cork.
